Report on Ordinance of 1899.

I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled "An Ordinance to amend the Crown Lands Resumption Ordinance, 1889," and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the Governor's Instructions.

Objects and Reasons

The object of Section 2 of this Ordinance is to amend the preamble to Ordinance 23 of 1889 in such a way as to make it clear that the acquisition or resumption of land or buildings may be effected for "any public purpose" as defined by section 3 of this Ordinance.
